The Robert M. Regan collection contains one cassette tape and a transcription of an interview conducted in 1977 between Regan and Bruce L. Larson and Karin Thiem at the Southern Minnesota Historical Center, Mankato, Minnesota. In the interview, Regan recalled the political career of John E. Regan, Robert Regan's father, who was a state representative from Blue Earth County, Minnesota in 1931-1932. Regan discussed national politics, the Depression and the New Deal and explained their impacts on his father's career in Minnesota politics. In addition to reminiscing about his father's ambition to become Minnesota's governor and United States Senator, Regan recalled portions of his family's history.
